An enigmatic video and a word repeated several times had led people to speculate about new music. Instead, Marco Mengoni’s surprise is called Allo Sbagliato: a new Milanese venue where he will serve as creative director—a role he’s taking on for the first time.
For seven weeks, the singer-songwriter will curate a program that reflects his interests and goes beyond music, featuring artists and guests from diverse backgrounds. It’s a project that invites you to let yourself be surprised and to set aside your expectations—at least for one evening.
What is Allo Sbagliato?
Stepping outside the usual norms, changing one’s perspective, and choosing an unexpected path: this is the essence of the project. The idea was introduced in a short trailer in which Mengoni finds himself in everyday situations and decides to do the opposite of what he’s told, culminating in the line: “This time, I want to do it wrong.”
Now that challenge takes shape in a venue and a lineup curated personally by the artist. Alongside the music, there will also be guests and personalities from other fields, selected based on his tastes and his desire to explore less predictable territories.
A club to experience without photos or videos
Allo Sbagliato also aims to change the way people experience events. During the evenings, attendees will not be allowed to use the cameras on their devices to take photos or record videos: the focus will be entirely on the moment and on what’s happening in front of the audience. Even the venue’s design is intended to break away from the usual club aesthetic.
When does Allo Sbagliato open?
For now, a seven-week run has been confirmed, and admission will be reserved for ticket holders. Dates, location, guests, and ticketing information have not yet been announced: to find out how to attend, stay tuned for upcoming updates on the project.
