Milan Design Week 2026 goes far beyond showrooms and exhibitions: it’s the perfect opportunity to discover spaces where design and gastronomy merge into unique experiences. In Milan, the search for venues where the cuisine and dishes faithfully reflect the aesthetics of the interiors is a constant. New openings—often minimalist and chic—are enticing, but they don’t always surpass the timeless charm of historic classics.
In this guide, our recommendations tailored to every taste: from nostalgic 1950s retro to contemporary styles, where light and materials create a unique identity.
Strucchi x Cassina Café
Strucchi x Cassina Café is a Milanese design bar that combines the new beverage brand Strucchi Vermouth & Bitter with the historic Cassina brand, a symbol of Italian interior design. Originally conceived as a pop-up during Milan Design Week 2025 on Via Durini, it has now become a permanent space next to the Cassina Store Milano, featuring just a few tables and an aesthetic refined down to the smallest detail, with iconic furnishings and an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere. In short, the perfect spot for an aperitif during Design Week 2026.
Balay
Balay is a place where design permeates every detail, from the furniture to the staff uniforms. A concept with a minimalist aesthetic, featuring visual identity and art direction curated by OnePlus in collaboration with Emanuele Abbondanza; the interiors were designed by the Milan-based studio studiomille, founded in 2023 by Daniele Dematté and Luca Cozzani.
The spaces blend metal shelves and chairs with woods in various warm tones, creating a perfect balance between modern and classic. Ideal especially for a dinner with friends, featuring Filipino tapas that are a must-try during Design Week 2026. Reservations are highly recommended!
LUCEFERMA
Recently opened, Luceferma – A Mediterranean Bar is a multifunctional space that blurs the lines between bar, restaurant, and contemporary art gallery. Conceived by Apulian designer Daniele Milonia, it was born as a layering of experiences: a meeting place where Mediterranean cuisine, dynamic lighting, and temporary exhibitions by emerging artists create a space in constant transformation.
From the convivial counter made of lava stone and handmade ceramics for Sicilian breakfasts (granita, arancini, fried iris) to the three distinct spaces with Buzzi & Buzzi lighting that shifts from cool to warm, everything is designed for a multisensory immersion.
Bar Luce
Have you ever dreamed of being in a Wes Anderson film? Inside the Prada Foundation is a very special café, designed by filmmaker Wes Anderson. Pastel pink and green are the absolute stars of the space, while vintage Italian furniture from the 1950s blends with wall decorations reminiscent of the Hotel Budapest. Classic Italian pastries and coffee: breakfast here has a whole new style.
Lubna
Lubna stands out for its opulent and sensual aesthetic, blending minimalist design with the atmosphere of an exclusive, glamorous club. It’s the perfect place to savor high-quality dishes with bold pairings that delight both the eyes and the palate, or signature cocktails, all while enjoying a DJ set featuring mostly house music.
Visually breathtaking, its standout feature is the giant screen that illuminates the room with manga projections: an unusual and captivating detail that lends a unique touch to the atmosphere.
Minerale
From the outside, a typical neighborhood bar; inside, one of the trendiest spots on the Milanese scene. Minerale – Bar & Cantina combines authenticity and sophistication. With a list of over 300 carefully selected artisanal and natural wines, it celebrates the lively spirit of Milanese bars, intertwining it with the timeless elegance of Parisian bistros. A space that embodies the chicest side of Milan’s nightlife.
Fioraio Bianchi
Between one exhibition and another, stopping for a refreshing coffee is almost a must. At Fioraio Bianchi, you step into a real flower shop, with fresh, colorful arrangements that enchant the eye. This place, however, hides a romantic soul, where retro furniture and antique display cabinets filled with pastries blend authentic Milanese charm with refined Parisian touches.
The cuisine is excellent and well worth a visit, even just for a delicious lunch that highlights the flavors of traditional Italian cuisine.
MOGO
You’ve surely heard of Hi-Fi listening bars. If you’re not familiar with them, these are spaces—often bars or restaurants—that offer a high-fidelity musical experience: pure, immersive listening, faithful to the original as if you were at a live concert, thanks to top-quality audio systems.
An aperitif or dinner at a Hi-Fi is a unique experience worth trying, and we recommend MOGO. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, with decor that makes you feel right at home. The cuisine? A POP fusion that reimagines Italian tradition with bold global touches.
