For the fourth consecutive year, BiM Summer returns to enliven the Bicocca neighborhood with a program packed with free events open to the city, featuring music, film, art, and much more. The festival, sponsored by the City of Milan, will entertain Milanese residents all summer long and kicks off on Thursday, June 4, with the BiM Summer Season Opening, from noon until midnight. Throughout the day, anyone interested can participate in creative workshops for adults and children, outdoor training sessions, andparticipatory art activities, or enjoy DJ sets and live music.
Throughout the day, visitors can grab a bite to eat and cool off at one of the bars and restaurants overlooking the BiM Garden. Among them will be Cafezal, Milan’s first Latin-inspired specialty coffee roastery; Panfé, the neighborhood bakery open from breakfast through aperitif time; and Pavilion by Fuorimano, the café-restaurant-tapas bar designed by Paola Navone-OTTO Studio.

BiM June 4: activities not to be missed
This Thursday, starting at noon, BiM comes alive with the Flug Market, where you’ll find tailored clothing, accessories, vinyl records, illustrations, and items by independent designers. The day continues with workshops by I Distratti, ranging from the “Notebook Design” workshop—where you can create a personalized notebook—to the Kamishibai theatrical storytelling session for families. Among the offerings is also “Feel It & Name It, ” a sensory experience for adults that combines music, emotions, and intuitive drawing in an immersive and creative journey.
There will also be moments dedicated to wellness and culture. At 12:30 p.m., BiM Outdoor Training returns, an event that combines running and functional training in a dynamic outdoor experience designed to recharge body and mind.
There will also be room for art with a special event: to celebrate the closing of Gianni Pettena’s Paper/Northern Lights exhibition, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, BiM invites the public to experience the work one last time in an active and personal way. With a simple pair of scissors, visitors will be able to interact directly with the installation, tracing a unique and unrepeatable path within it. Finally, the BiM Summer Opening will also kick off the film series in collaboration with
Cinemino, which will continue through September, with the first screening scheduled for Saturday, June 6.

Live music and DJ sets
Music will be the star of the opening day. From 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM, the beat will be set by a curated selection from I Distratti. As evening falls, from 7:30 PM until midnight, the atmosphere will come alive with a DJ set by Esa, in collaboration with Blue Note Milano, a partner returning this year to present the Blue Note Off series.
To close out the evening, starting at 10:00 PM, there will be a live performance by Malasartoria Milano. The project, born in the city’s underground scene and deeply rooted in sample culture, will be joined on stage by Tormento, an icon of Italian rap who incorporates influences ranging from West Coast hip-hop to jazz and blues into his music , for an intense live session.
