On Sunday, May 24, 2026, Milan will once again host the Giro d’Italia, and it will do so with a finish that promises to bring the city back to the heart of the Giro. After a five-year absence, the Voghera-Milan stage will bring top-tier cycling back to the streets of Milan, with a city circuit that will pass through some of the city’s most famous streets.
The return of the Giro d’Italia to Milan marks a historic moment: the finish line becomes the meeting point between the city’s history—which saw the race’s birth in 1909 —and the present of an event capable of appealing to diverse audiences, from the most seasoned fans to those who follow it for the pleasure of seeing their city on screen.

The Giro stops in Milan
The 15th stage of the race starts in Voghera and finishes in Milan after 157 kilometers. A seemingly simple route, completely flat and characterized by long straights, which will favor the sprinters’ teams, ready to attack to claim the stage victory.
The official start is set for 1:40 p.m. from Piazza Duomo in Voghera. The peloton will then pass through Pavia, Binasco, and Rozzano, gradually approaching Milan. The entry into the city is scheduled to take place near the Chiesa Rossa, overlooking the Naviglio Pavese. From there, the final 16.3-kilometer circuit will begin, to be completed four times. The finish is scheduled for Corso Venezia at 5:30 p.m., where thousands of people are expected.

“Waiting for the Giro” at Vigorelli
To mark the Milan stage of the Giro d’Italia, the city is offering a calendar of dedicated events. The program, promoted by the City Council together with Milanosport, with the support of RCS and the involvement of local sports organizations, aims to bring the Vigorelli back into the spotlight, highlighting it as a symbolic site of Milan’s sporting history.
Among the scheduled initiatives, two exhibitions dedicated to figures who have shaped the history of the sport stand out. At the Vigorelli, from May 24 to 31, “Una vita in Giro” pays tribute to the Maglia Rosa and Vincenzo Torriani through historic jerseys, photographs, and archival materials. In the stands of the velodrome, from May 20 to 31, the photo exhibition “I Giusti nello Sport” will be on display, a free exhibition dedicated to athletes who have distinguished themselves for their courage and fair play. Finally, on May 24, the Cozzi municipal swimming pool will host the “Quartier Tappa, ” becoming the operational and media hub for the arrival of the Milan stage of the Giro.
