The 26th National Gorgonzola DOP Festival promises to be one of the most anticipated culinary events in the Martesana region and the Milanese hinterland. Organized by the Pro Loco di Gorgonzola APS, the event will celebrate the excellence of the famous Lombard blue cheese right in the city that gives it its name.

On Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (with evening events that often extend the hours in the central squares), the festival will celebrate the star of these two days: Gorgonzola.
As confirmed by the Pro Loco, the festive atmosphere will begin as early as September 6 with a series of preparatory events that will set the stage for the main weekend.
During the weekend of September 19 and 20, the historic center will be transformed into an open-air culinary journey. The streets will come alive with iconic dishes; at the food stands and in the main squares, visitors will be able to enjoy great classics such as gorgonzola risotto, gorgonzola gnocchi, savory stuffed fritters, and even gorgonzola ice cream.
There will be not only the classic risotto, but also polenta, tortelloni, gnocchi, lasagna, and pizzoccheri.
Numerous stalls will be dedicated to the sale of Gorgonzola DOP (mild and sharp) directly from producers and affineurs. In addition to food, the festival offers a rich program of side events, including live music, craft stalls, and workshops for children (the “Children’s Festival”). It’s the perfect opportunity to discover the historical roots of this cheese and enjoy a weekend filled with camaraderie and authentic flavors.

While waiting for the Gorgonzola Festival, Gorgonzola lovers should mark three events on their calendars. On September 6 at 4:00 p.m., there will be a bread-and-Gorgonzola snack at Burattini in Carne ed ossa (Caponago, Piazza della Pace). Also on September 6 at 6:30 p.m., a Gorgonzola risotto feast is scheduled at Settembre Basianese (Basiano, Piazza San Gregorio). On September 12 at 12:30 p.m., the Gorgonzola risotto feast moves to Libri in Villa, in Gessate, at Villa Daccò.
