A hot start to July, not only because of the hellish temperatures, but also because of the announcement of the arrival of 4 major rail and air transport strikes, which could create great inconvenience for commuters and tourists throughout Italy.
Closely spaced as early as the first 10 days of the month and then towards the end, at a time when travel increases for the vacations as well as the flow of tourism in our country. Let’s take a closer look at them:
July strikes

Already the first 3 affect next week between July 7 and 10 and then at the end of the month. The first a national rail strike called for Monday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 8, 2025: mobilizations will begin in the evening of July 7, from 9 p.m., and end at 6 p.m. the following day. These mobilizations will also be joined by a major air transport strike scheduled for July 10, which will see two separate national mobilizations converge along with several local strikes. An air transport blockade is also planned for July 26, and we are up to four. These mobilizations could make getting around Italy by air very complex.
The July 7-8 rail strike will include 3 strikes and will involve
- rail transport, local public transport and rail freight, called by Sgb,
- the national rail freight strike for Caprain Italy organized by sectoral confederal unions;
- the national rail transport strike for Fsi, Trenitalia, Tper and Mercitalia organized by the National Assembly Pdm/pdb.
On the two air transport days, they will strike:
- Easyjet employees for the entire day on July 10, with in mobilization organized by Usb;
- employees of Assohandlers for the entire day of July 10, in a mobilization organized by Flai;
- the employees of the entire air transport and airport supply industry for the entire day of July 26, in a mobilization organized by Cub Transport;
- Volotea airline employees between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on July 26, excluding those on flights to Palermo, in a mobilization organized by Uiltrasporti.
In addition to these strikes, which will affect the entire country, a series of local mobilizations in the transport sector will also take place during July, the calendar for which can be found here.
