In Motta Visconti, autumn smells of porcini mushrooms. From Friday, September 25, through Sunday, September 27 , the Porcini Mushroom Festival returns for its 49th edition: three days to sample local specialties and explore the town through music and culinary events.
The Porcini Mushroom Festival Program
The festival kicks off on Friday evening at 9:00 p.m. with a fashion show in Piazza Sant’Ambrogio. On Saturday, starting at 7:00 p.m., the town’s streets and Piazza Leonardo da Vinci come alive with food stalls, music, and menus featuring porcini mushrooms. On Sunday, the festivities continue all day long, with food stalls, a hobbyists’ market, and activities for children.
Among the weekend’s culinary highlights, Gastronomia Raineri and Pasticceria Locatelli will offer a special porcini-based menu—including options for children—on Via Borgomaneri, before wrapping up the weekend on a high note on Sunday with a farewell risotto featuring porcini mushrooms and Bonarda wine.
