Some people party until morning, while others start the party right in the morning. Soft Clubbing is taking Milan by storm—a new way to have fun that brings the music and energy of clubs into bars, usually in the early hours of the day. It’s not about quiet music and chatting at the tables, but full-on parties with killer DJ sets—only instead of gin and tonics, there are cappuccinos and mimosas. It’s the perfect morning for those who want to start the day with a little energy boost or for those who prefer to sleep in without giving up the party.
What is Soft-Clubbing
Soft Clubbing is a new way to experience house and techno music, no longer in the dark rooms of exclusive clubs but within the bright walls of cafes and bars featuring modern, minimalist, and “aesthetic” designs. The concept combines the energy of a party with the relaxed atmosphere of a bar, featuring a DJ spinning right at the counter—where you’d normally grab a quick coffee—while hundreds of people let loose among croissants and cappuccinos from the early hours of the day.
In Milan, a city where parties and venues are plentiful, it was inevitable that this trend would arrive (and immediately win everyone over). Soft Clubbing doesn’t replace the classic night out amid strobe lights and sequins, but it offers a valid alternative for those who don’t like or can’t stay out late, without sacrificing the socializing and energy typical of nightclubs.
And anyone who thinks it was the older generations who drove this new party style is mistaken. Soft Clubbing events are, in fact, particularly popular with Gen Z, who seek a balance between fun and well-being, and who definitely prefer a full 8 hours of sleep to all-nighters.
