From Hawkins to Milan, the Underworld seems to have branched out to the Lombard capital. The Christmas lights in the city are certainly very scenic and beautiful to admire during these winter nights. Some of them, however, take us back in time, more specifically to 1983, when we first saw the Christmas lights in the Byers’ home serve as a means of communication between Will and Joyce. On the occasion of the release of the new and final season, scheduled to take place just tomorrow (at 2:00 a.m. in Italy), Stranger Things-themed lights have appeared suspended between the buildings on Dante Street.
If you are a lover of Christmas lights, just a few steps away from Dante Street is another wonderful light installation, namely the one by ODStore that covers the entire building. Just below The Dome terrace, a cascade of lights and special effects create a truly stunning visual show. The animations alternate between Christmas symbols, such as snowflakes, and candy and other treats.
The brightest activities in and around Milan
To stay on the Christmas lights theme, the giant tree in Piazza Duomo will be lit next Saturday (Dec. 6) , officially kicking off Christmas in Milan. The Christmas tree, more than 27 meters tall, will light up at about 5 p.m.
No Christmas lights in the San Fedele Auditorium, but thousands of candles illuminating its historic walls: this year Candlelight concerts will once again present the Christmas version of their concerts. An evocative event that will be repeated for 3 evenings: on December 19, 20 and 21, where a string quartet will reinterpret the best Christmas melodies surrounded by countless candles.
In nearby Como, on the other hand, lovers of Christmas lights will enjoy the spectacular Christmas projections of the “City of Toys” in the city center. Also, less than two hours from Milan, is the Island of Light, the small island on Lake Maggiore that until December 6 will be illuminated with hundreds of colored lights, visible as early as from the shore of Baveno. The Island can be visited in the evening, at the most atmospheric time, aboard Christmas speedboats!
