Do you like festivals? We do a lot, they draw a lot of people and there is always a great spirit of togetherness. Well know that from tomorrow August 30 to September 8 comes to the outskirts of Milan the La Garbatola festival, a super festival full of themed dinners every night, sporting, cultural and musical events and to top it all off an unmissable fireworks display.
La Garbatola is organized in Garbatola, a hamlet of Nerviano, a municipality about a half-hour from Milan.
But there is more, in addition to the festival itself there is also Fuori di Festa for the town. a bit like our Fuori Salone. For four evenings the square in Garbatola (Piazza Don Musazzi) is transformed into a concert arena. One of the longest-running music festivals in Garbatola, if you consider that it all began back in 1995, and still continues to be one of the most experienced and anticipated moments in the entire upper Milanese area.

Sunday, Aug. 31: “Freccia Valle Olona” bike randonnèe at 8:30 a.m.(info) and “Traversata dei Caimani” Villoresi Channel swimming race at 3 p.m. ( info).
- On Monday, Sept. 1, however, the Villoresi triathlon takes place at 7 p.m. : a sprint version of 10km mountain bike, 400m swim, 2.5km final run. More info here.
- Tuesday, Sept. 2 you’ll have The River: a 60km Randonnée through Roccolo Park, the HST bike/pedestrian path, the Naviglio bike/pedestrian path and the Villoresi bike/pedestrian path. A unique route, think, as many as 58 km on cycle-pedestrian roads closed to traffic. Read more here.
- On Wednesday, September 3, on the other hand, the 28th edition of the Walk under the Stars will take place: the classic evening run of the village festival: 6km to run all in one breath. Departure at 7:30 p.m. from Don Musazzi Square. More info.
Musical and cultural events
In addition to concerts in Musazzi Square La Garbatola offers various musical and other evenings:
- Tuesday, Sept. 2: Scala 40 and Table Football tournament at 9 p.m. at the Via Gorizia Oratory, and at 9:15 p.m. in Piazza Don Musazzi the first of two Nerviano stages of the women’s music and spoken word festival now in its 17th year will take place.
- Wednesday, September 23, is also a nice full day: in addition to what has been listed so far at 7:15 p.m. for the little ones there will be the Kid Co0lor Run. At 9 p.m. the opening of an exhibition “the wood that speaks” with art installations made from wood. At 10 p.m. rock blues music at the oratory.
- Sept. 4-5-6 you can enjoy thematic dinners and the Out of Feast with its concerts.
- Sunday, Sept. 7 big things: at 3 p.m. the final rounds of the Scale 40 tournaments. Also at 3 p.m., live demonstration by the Nerviano lacemakers, also at 3 p.m. inflatables, games and child makeup. Continued at the same time the ‘sport climbing. a circus show. At 4 p.m. the fanfare. at 6 p.m. the foam party in the square. At 7:30 p.m. the Valtellina dinner, and 9:30 p.m. live music with an i No Ages,80s-90s revival group.
