Artificial intelligence no longer exists only on our screens: it is already changing the way we work, get around, and access services. But how can it help make the city more connected and livable? This will be discussed at Milan Digital Week, scheduled from Wednesday, September 30, to Sunday, October 4, 2026, featuring five days of meetings, workshops, conferences, and exhibitions.
“The Generative City”: The Theme of Milan Digital Week
The central theme of this edition is “The Generative City”: a reflection on how digital technology and artificial intelligence can create new connections and opportunities, from mobility to public services, from work to culture. People remain at the center: technology becomes meaningful when it improves daily life and engages the city’s residents.
The program: events and experiences throughout Milan
The heart of the event will be SmartCityLab Milano, supported by hubs such as STEP FuturAbility District, MEET Digital Culture Center, Cefriel, and the former Church of San Carpoforo.
Among the events to mark on your calendar:
- On September 30, the interactive exhibition NABA Envisioning Future Citizenships and the opening conference;
- On October 1, a session on rethinking public services;
- On October 2, the focus will be on data and digital infrastructure, with an evening event at the Catholic University exploring the relationship between video games and classical music;
- On October 3, at STEP, a discussion on human skills in the age of AI.
Many events are free to attend, but some require reservations, and spots may fill up. Times, admission procedures, and registration details may vary by event: before marking your calendar, it’s best to consult the full program for Milan Digital Week.
