No travel, no complicated plans. The Duomo is downtown; the elevator takes you up about 50 meters, and the music starts at sunset. And from up there, among spires, flying buttresses, and slabs of Candoglia marble, Milan ceases to be the city you know and becomes something different.
Three reasons not to miss a Serata d’Incanto
The view you don’t expect. No other place in Milan offers this skyline. At a height of 50 meters, with Piazza del Duomo, Cordusio, and San Babila nestled below you, the city reveals itself in a way that few truly know, even among those who have lived here all their lives.
A Thursday evening that just falls into place. No vacation, no planning. You leave the office, cross downtown, and head up. The evenings follow the sunset: at 8:30 PM in June and July, at 8:00 PM in August, and at 7:30 PM in September. Convenient, central—that alone is enough.
Classical, electronic, piano recitals. The 2026 calendar, developed in collaboration with the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Music in Milan, features names like Davide Cabassi —piano recital on July 16 —and Michele Gamba —solo piano on September 3 —along with quartets, a solo violinist, and an electronic music duo. It’s not a rigid format: every Thursday is different from the one before.

It starts on Thursday, June 11, at 8:30 p.m . with the Quartetto della Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano:
- Andrea Pecolo, violin.
- Stefano Lo Re, violin.
- Matteo Amadasi, viola.
- Alfredo Persichilli, cello.
The calendar also includes:
- A saxophone quartet.
- A solo violin.
- An electronic music duo.
Musical performances by Alfredo Persichilli, Simonide Braconi, Luca Ranieri, Mario Marzi, Fabrizio Meloni, and Marco Zoni are also scheduled.
How much does a concert cost and what you need to know before going up

- To reach the second level and descend, you must use the stairs.

How to get there without any trouble
🚇 By metro: Duomo stop, lines M1 (red) and M3 (yellow), with direct exit to Piazza del Duomo. Tip for the Terraces: once in the square, walk around the Duomo on the left side (north side); there you’ll find the dedicated entrances for the climb on foot or by elevator.
🚆 By train: from Milano Centrale or Rogoredo, take the yellow M3 metro line directly to Duomo. From Porta Garibaldi, take the M2 metro and transfer at Cadorna (to the M1) or at Centrale (to the M3).
🚌 By bus or tram: the ATM network is very efficient. The nearest trams stop just a few steps from the square: lines 2 and 14 (Via Torino), 15 (Piazza Fontana), 16, 24, and 27 (Via Mazzini).
🚗 By car (not recommended!): The Duomo is located right in the heart of the ZTL (Area C), traffic is heavy, and the very few covered parking spots in the area are very expensive.
🚶 On foot or by bike: from neighboring neighborhoods like Brera, Cordusio, Missori, or San Babila, it’s a short and pleasant walk. If you’re using a bike or electric scooter, watch out for restrictions and pedestrians in the pedestrian zones around the cathedral.
