There are those times when you feel like planning a trip out of town, taking the car and escaping a few hours into nature. Eat at an agritourism and be lulled by the peace of these places. What if you could do all this while staying in town? Here are 4 farmhouses where you can unplug without leaving Milan.
Cascina Cuccagna
This 17th-century farmhouse is located in the Porta Romana area. It is truly a corner of paradise where everything happens. Very active Cascina Cuccagna is a restaurant, meeting place for an aperitif, sharing. At Cascina Cuccagna they organize the most diverse activities, sewing classes, yoga, costume jewelry, theater workshops. Then again, the Cascina is home to an organic farmers’ market every Tuesday.
It is truly a community-facing reality, a center of culture and participation. Cascina Cuccagna is a project of Associazione Cantiere Cuccagna Consortium (ACCC) established in 2005 that still continues to play an important role in the city of Milan.
Here you will find care, passion, love and a peaceful environment. An oasis right in the heart of the city.
If this is what you are looking for, then Cascina Cuccagna is for you.

Cascina Nascosta
Among Milan’s farmsteads here is where we signal youAs the name says “Cascina Nascosta,” this is a little gem that is hidden among the foliage of the trees in Parco Sempione. This Cascina also plays an important role in offering the community a serene place of peace and well-being. A place of sharing. Of gathering.
A space where art and culture intersect giving very nice moments to anyone who wants to participate. Sustainable fashion markets, zero-mile farmers’ market, wine tasting, jazz concerts and so much more.
Cascina nascosta also has a noteworthy culinary offering. It is worth organizing a dinner, aperitif or lunch with friends there. Good, curated, quality food awaits you. For example, on Thursdays there are Mangiarini, an evening dedicated to tasting traditional dishes. (If you are interested make a reservation by calling 3406755196).
Nature, sustainability, culture, relaxation and good food. What more could you want?

Urban Cultural Sea
Finally, among the city’s farmhouses, a very special place where you won’t even feel like you’re in Milan, we point out this place: Mare Culturale Urbano. It is multifunctional hub in the city that offers from music event, tasting, concert, farmer’s market, as well as being a restaurant, coworking and craft brewery. Urban Cultural Sea is a center of culture free from inequality and barriers where really all kinds of activities are organized, from dance, theater, yoga, and film to festivals.
The project was born years ago to revalue a suburban neighborhood in Milan, and the result is something exceptional. Everything really happens here. It is a magical place that will give you moments of escape while staying in the city. Drop in, it will delight you.

Cascina Gaggioli
A little further from the center of Milan than the other farmsteads selected here but easily reached by car or streetcar 24 is Cascina Gaggioli. A place where you can find yourself without necessarily leaving the city. Just outside is this wonderful structure that houses everything and more inside: it is a small farm with certified organic farming, cattle breeding and agritourism B&B. A truly versatile place surrounded by greenery.
The farmhouse still maintains the typical square courtyard structure. All spaces overlook the central farmyard, the beating heart of the farm. Here you can find lots of greenery and silence. Excellent quality food, all self-produced, and a team of people who strive every day with passion and dedication to offer the best to passing visitors.
Super recommended for break, a snack, a barbecue (the facility does not have a bar or restaurant but at the store, during the hours it is open, you can buy something and stop by the farmyard. By reservation, it is possible to grill) In short, Cascina Gaggioli is worth it, always.

The Cascina
In the new neighborhood of Cascina Merlata stands this newly established space, La Cascina, more in vogue than before after the opening of the nearby Merlata Bloom department store. Not quite a farmhouse as we are used to thinking of it as much as a space for the citizenry that houses community services. A gathering place let’s say. A conference hall equipped with PC stations, wifi, an area for cultural events and places to eat, drink in company such as a brewery, a pizzeria and an ice cream/roastery. A large park surrounds it, giving it a green area in no small part of Milan.
