But what to do to end the month of August on a high note? From the 29th to the 31st comes the Gin & Tonic festival: a 3-day event all about mixology.
The festival came to life in 2016 from the union of a passion for gin and a love for carefully constructed events designed to be experiences to be lived and shared.
Over the years it has grown to become the benchmark in Italy for the industry, uniting novices and professionals in an experience that is a mix of tastings, product culture and entertainment.
This year the Gin & Tonic festival returns to the same location as last year’s that welcomed as many as 11,000 people, the Ex Macello.
What to expect from the Gin & Tonic festival

The festival is a fixture every year for all fans and more. There is a bubbly atmosphere that gets better every year and promises to make for a fun-filled evening. Music, master classes, seminars and tastings. This year’s event awaits you:
- Creating your own gin by dressing in the shoes of a master distiller for a day. You will take home your own unique bottle complete with custom label printed on site.
- Special Gin & Tonic tastings with innovative ingredients that do not involve tonic. For a different and special tasting journey.
- Masterclass with industry experts (Vanessa Piromallo and Marco Bertoncini-two of the three Italian members of the prestigious The Gin Guild). From 6:30 to 8 p.m. they will hold two seminars on Gin: The Perfect Gin in 2025 and how it is evaluated by the international jury of which Piromallo is a member.
- Thanks to a collaboration with Club Amici del Toscano, cigars will be tasted at the Gin & Tonic Festival while exploring the art of slow smoking.
- And not to be missed at the festival, a team of professional tattoo artists will be on hand for live tattoo sessions.
A must-attend event for everyone. Even teetotalers, the world of gin is curious and worth exploring. Purchase tickets here.
