We have just returned operational from summer vacation, we still enjoy outdoor aperitifs, the last dips in the pool and already we start talking about Christmas? Well yes because the news is curious; so in Lurate Caccivio a town in the province of Como an hour from Milan, master pastry chef Stefano Camozzi has already begun to produce pandoro, its special feature being that it is all 23 carat gold and saffron.
The golden pandoro

The production was sold quickly, in just a few days. Camozzi until a few months ago had a pastry shop in downtown Como where the first pandoro were displayed giving them visibility. People liked them, the recipe perfected and the first batch devoured in no time. 2 days maximum.
The price? 60 euros per kilo. But you have edible gold flakes (23 kt) and saffron from a Brianza farm chosen by Camozzi himself. All in all, distinctive ingredients that will make Christmas a holiday even more sparkling than it is. Each cake weighs about 1 kg.
Apparently Camozzi likes gold a lot; last year he came out with the all-gold panettone at 120 euros per kilo, and before that in 2022 the praline d’orata, the all-gold-covered chocolate, also at 69 euros, again by this whimsical pastry chef who has made this golden ingredient his signature.
The pandoro oro di is a limited edition, a true edible jewel. Each piece is numbered and produced in a maximum of 100 pieces, guaranteeing exclusivity, and each batch ends very soon.
The Pandoro d’Oro is available at Pasticceria Mignon in Lurate Caccivio, 29 Roncoroni Street.
