Is Milan too bright to spot a shooting star? No problem from tomorrow August 7 to the 10th big celebration in Mandello del Lario for the Night of San Lorenzo and its shooting stars. A calendar full of events that will end with the incredible fireworks display over the lake on Sunday evening.
A four-day celebration, music and fun for all ages for the most exciting night of the year: San Lorenzo and its stars. It is not to be missed.
The night of San Lorenzo in Mandello
The St. Lawrence Night celebrations begin as early as tomorrow, August 7, with outdoor games from 3 to 7 p.m. for children, followed in the evening by a pop-rock concert by the band BKG in Piazza Italia around 9 p.m. More info can also be found here.
The patronal festival and subsequent evenings will move to the San Lorenzo Oratory with music and entertainment:
- Friday, Aug. 9: The Twisters a rock’n roll band.
- Saturday, Aug. 10: Space for dancing with theCrickets Orchestra.
August 10 will be a beautiful intense day. Here the highlight of the festival will take place: mass, procession with blessing on the lake followed by the St. Lawrence Fair with stalls of local products and crafts. The most anticipated moment will be the on the traditional “Lucie” boats accompanied by the Merry Brigade in period costume for a dip in local folklore. In short, the night of San Lorenzo in Mandello is preceded by some really exciting moments.
Then there will be dancing with the Grilli Orchestra and at 10 p.m. the incredible fireworks display ( if it rains it will be canceled).
On these days there will also be eating as a risto-bar service is available at the Oratory for everyone.
On August 11 as the last day everything will end at 9 p.m. with the Summer Fitness Dance, led by Giordana. At 7 p.m. the kitchen service will open.

In addition to the initiatives in Mandello, we also point out that in Como there will be a special evening opening of the Baradello Castle: start from Piazza Camerlata, go up along the Santa Brigida path, pass through Parco della Rimembranza, and reach the ramparts of the castle walls.
