Are you team pandoro or panettone? In case you are more of the latter, know that at the end of the month, November 29-30, Re Panettone®, the well-established event dedicated to this confectionery product, returns to Milan.
It is an exhibition-market dedicated to artisanal panettone, featuring high-quality leavened products; organized with a strong “natural ingredients” philosophy: participating confectioners must use only natural ingredients, with no artificial additives or semi-finished products. Also on the website we read“please note that the artisanal leavened products at the event are made without preservatives and emulsifiers, so they usually have a much shorter life than industrial ones.”
Re Panettone®

It is an event that has been going on since 2008; this year’s will be the 18th edition. But what’s going on? There will be challenges between master pastry chefs to grab the prize of best panettone and technical juries ready to taste and vote. You the public can also be part of the popular jury and elect your favorite panettone( sweet or savory). Here on how to become a judge.
There are 3 categories for which you can compete and for which only the technical jury can vote: Panettone, 5 kg Panettone and Savory Panettone . The rules require panettone cakes to be made with sourdough and natural ingredients, with no artificial additives. The popular jury will have their say by tasting between the Classic Panettone and the Savory Panettone.
This year a new category has been included, “Panettone Partenope,” pastry chefs can compete with a creation inspired by the mythological theme of Parthenope.

- By car if you arrive by car, take Tangenziale Est, exit 6 (Linate). From Venice/A35: exit Novegro-Tregarezzo. From Milan: you can get there via Viale Forlanini and Via Rivoltana/SP14. Fair entrance: Via Jannacci, c/o Parco Esposizioni Novegro. On the park’s website you will find all the info eventually. The venue has ample parking facilities.
