This weekend, Piazza Gae Aulenti makes way for music for a completely free super festival. The Portanuova Music Fest in collaboration with Openstage will be held Sept. 19-21 right in the famous square. Nestled among the tallest skyscrapers in Milan, lots of artists will perform on 4 different stages: Fever-Tree Stage, Essence Stage, Aalto Square Stage and Via Capelli Stage.
What to expect. Live music, DJ sets every night and inspirational talks with some of Italy’s leading record labels (Warner, Sony, Universal, Sugar), but also photography workshops and a music tarot station with exceptional fortune tellers.
Carl Brave: the free concert in Gae Aulenti
Carl Brave will be one of the big names performing at this musical weekend. The artist will take the stage at the Fever-Tree Stage on Saturday, September 20 at 7:30 pm. In addition to Carl Brave there will be many other artists and events, starting right from Friday night at 6 p.m., where for the opening of the festival an exclusive aperitif has been organized by Tripstillery and Panino Giusto in Aalto Square. Here there will be food, drinks and a fantastic DJ set with DJ Kharfi and DJ Niika enlivening the square until around 9:00 pm.
The party will continue on Saturday and Sunday, where we will see names like Cantafinoadieci (Anna Castiglia, Frankly, Rossana De Pace, Irene Buselli, Cheriach Re), Sarafine, Masamasa, Funky Lemonade, Vaeva, Diorama, Dario Comparini, Chiara Cami, Matilde Caressa, Cactus, Funky Lemonade, Sidy, D!PS.
Gadgets and workshops
There will be more than just performances at the Portanuova Music Fest. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in workshops organized by professionals. Among the highlights is one on photography on Saturday , Sept. 20, from 5 p.m., where experts will teach how to capture the emotions of music. Also on Saturday, September 20, from 2:30-4:00 p.m., there will be “Is it all about talent?” A meeting with A&R from Warner Music, Universal Music, Sugar Music and Sony Music, led by Marco Maccarini and Federico Rana.
