The year 2026 will be a year we will enjoy for the simple fact that with only 15 to 16 vacation days one can get 43 by making the most of bridges and holidays that fall on strategic days. From a simple holiday you can get 3 or 4, not bad but you have to be ruthless.
It is still far from Christmas and we are in 2025 but we are already looking forward to next year. However, if we want to make the most of these opportunities we need to act as soon as possible and be forward-looking.
How to get the 43 days off

But let’s try to take a closer look at how to structure killer bridges and get plenty of vacation time:
- Already Christmas this year gives us a big weekend, Christmas being on a Friday. The 24th is Christmas Eve and we usually never work all day, in case it’s a vacation. Then January 1 is on a Thursday we take day off on Friday here we start the year more peaceful. Small Spoiler Christmas 2026 will also be on a Friday.
- Then we move on to Epiphany. The 6th is on a Tuesday, there is to see why some companies bridge on the 5th of their own free will. Others don’t, if you are part of the latter we take the day and 3-4-5-6 easy weekend. From a holiday close to the weekend you get 4.
- Easter and Easter Monday ( April 5-6 – Sunday and Monday) you put the day OOO on Friday for example or even Thursday and tac 5 days in your pocket. But if you want a break of 9 actual days you add April 7-10 et voila, however it is a more drawn out solution and we don’t know how much is possible.
- And then there is Labor Day ( May 1) which falls on a Friday. 1 public holiday – 3 days of cakewalk.
- And Republic Day also falls in our favor on a Monday. A 3-day long weekend with a holiday but if you want to overdo it take a day off on Thursday and do Thursday-Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Monday. May 29-June 2.
The days off organizing well would be 30 or so but with a more aggressive strategy, with a Thursday taken off there a Wednesday off here you can get to 43 days. We have not counted them but we trust the calendar. Come on 2026 will be the breakthrough year.
