Christmas in Milan has definitely arrived and with it all the Christmas activities. The Lombard capital really gives its best for the holidays, with light shows in Piazza Duomo and even streetcars transformed into Milan’s Polar Express. Among these thousands of initiatives, there is also a huge Christmas village right in the city center, which features huge rides in the shape of a Christmas tree, a little wooden house where you can meet Santa Claus and dozens of stands where you can indulge in a sweet Christmas snack.
What to do at Milan’s largest Christmas village?
A Christmas village designed for young and old alike, where you can spend a few hours with your family amidst Christmas music and Nutella crepes, which can be purchased at the many refreshment stands. Here, you will find numerous rides, such as the huge Christmas tree where you can take a ride inside one of the balls that adorn it, or the small roller coaster where you can jump on Santa’s magical sleigh. For the more nostalgic there is also a beautiful carousel!
Of course, you cannot miss the ice rink, which is even bigger this year. 80 square meters long and 1,000 wide, it ranks among the largest skating rinks in northern Italy, with an indoor, heated part and an open-air part. The rink, hosts occasional mind-blowing shows, with professional skaters, tightrope walkers, dancers and jugglers.
This village also, and especially, thinks of the little ones, who have their own (indoor) skating “baby rink” and can go and mail their letters in Santa’s house, where he will be there to welcome the children. Entrance to the latter is possible only by reservation.
