Not the biggest, not the most famous, but the most fairytale-like of them all. In December, there is an event that transforms an entire area into a large Christmas village for more than a month, with wooden cottages and a living Nativity scene. It is an event that attracts thousands of visitors from Italy and abroad every year, and this year it was also awarded at the European level for its magical atmosphere, entering the top 10 best markets in Europe for the European Best Destinations ranking. More than just a market, it is a widespread itinerary that combines local traditions, UNESCO landscapes and many experiences designed for all ages.
The activities at Europe’s most fairy-tale market include.
the Magical Christmas Country, a major event that unfolds among outdoor markets, Christmas shows and light installations. At the heart of the market are more than a hundred little houses, where you can find Christmas decorations, local gastronomic products and handcrafted gift ideas, all bathed in lights, Christmas music and scenic displays.
Alongside the stalls, you cannot miss Santa’s House, located inside a historic castle, and the Elf School for the little ones. Among the streets of one of the villages, the Christmas Fairy Tale event will be staged, a series of events that brings the youngest children closer to Christmas reading and music, thanks to Christmas Carols. Finally, on special dates, it will also be possible to see a living Nativity scene.
