It has just opened in the center of Milan, but it is already driving everyone crazy. This new fast food restaurant has a minimalist design and a limited menu… So why is everyone talking about it? The restaurant’s menu philosophy is somewhat reminiscent of the American chainIn-N-Out Burger, as it offers customers only four sandwiches, but the quality is far superior.
Smashers: artisan buns and nuggets breaded in breadsticks
Once inside the restaurant, you will find yourself catapulted into a place that looks like it came out of the early 2000s. Not too big but not too small, the aluminum gray color is the protagonist of the location, along with a bar area overlooking the kitchen and a giant LED screen above the cash register displaying the menu. There are three options: the classic smash burger, the cheeseburger, the chicken burger, and the smash burger with fried onions, as well as the inevitable nuggets and French fries.
The hamburger buns are handmade and the chicken nuggets are breaded in crumbled Turin breadsticks. The quality ingredients and carefully selected raw materials are what set it apart from American fast food. Prices are average: a single burger costs €7.90, a double burger €10.50, and a triple burger €13. The restaurant is called Smashers and is located at Corso Buenos Aires, 2.
