It just recently opened in downtown Milan, but it’s already blowing everyone away. This new fast food restaurant has a minimal design and a menu with little to offer…. But then why is it on everyone’s lips? The restaurant’s menu philosophy is somewhat reminiscent of the American chain In-N-OutBurger, because it only offers customers four sandwiches, but the quality is far superior.
Smashers: artisanal buns and nuggets breaded in breadsticks.
Once inside the restaurant, you will find yourself catapulted into a place that seems straight out of the early 2000s. Not too big but not too small either, the aluminum-gray color scheme is the star of the location along with a bar station, facing right on the kitchen, and a giant LED positioned above the cash register showing the menu. Three offerings, we find the classic smash burger, cheeseburger, chicken burger and smash burger with fried onion, as well as the ever-present nuggets and fries.
The burger buns are artisanal and the chicken nuggets are breaded in crumbled Turin breadsticks. Quality ingredients and carefully selected raw materials are what makes it different from American fast food. Prices are average; in fact, a single burger sandwich costs €7.90, a double burger €10.50, and a triple burger €13. The place is called Smashers and is located at Corso Buenos Aires, 2.
