It is called “Becco,” the suspended walkway overlooking Val Parina, a town inVal Brembana in the province of Bergamo. To put it simply, it is a 16-meter terrace made of grates overlooking the void, allowing visitors to enjoy an incredible view of Val Parina and Mount Ortighera.
The work was designed by the “Fontana&Lotti Lorenzi – Ingegneri associati” studio. The project was created with the aim of creating a panoramic viewpoint that would complete the enhancement of the Dossena mining area with an open-air view of the rock.

Il Becco is not just a suspended walkway but an unmissable adrenaline-filled experience. It will be like walking in the void, 250 meters above the ground. To put it into perspective, if we take a 10-story building with each floor 3 meters high, we need 10 buildings to reach 250 meters. The void beneath Il Becco is equivalent to 10 buildings stacked on top of each other. It’s quite something, but what an experience and what a view, with all the surrounding nature and the Parina stream flowing below you. You can experience the thrill of walking in the void and even taking flight.
The rules
The suspended walkway is freely accessible, but it is not an attraction to be taken lightly. There are precautions to be taken:
- No reservation is required.
- Walking on it is prohibited in the event of thunderstorms or very strong winds.
- It is not accessible to people with disabilities.
- Children may only cross it if accompanied by an adult.
- Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
- It is forbidden to throw objects over the parapet.
- No vehicles of any kind, including bicycles, are allowed.
- Do not jump or run to make the structure swing.
- You can find more information and other obvious rules to follow on the website.
If you love adrenaline-fueled experiences like this, we would like to point out that the longest Tibetan bridge in the world is also located in this area (Val Brembana): over 500 meters long and 120 meters high. 1,200 steps and 3.5 km of rope. A must-try.
