It is known that in Milan we really like to have a good breakfast. After listing the places with the best brioche in the city and those for breakfast outdoors, we couldn’t fail to mention the pastry shops in Milan.
A hot cappuccino with a croissant melting in the palate is an immense pleasure, a magical moment of the day. And then a hearty breakfast gives us the right energy to get Monday (but also the other days of the week 😜 ) off to a good start. So let’s see where these bakeries are located in the city and what they offer for breakfast.
Marlà Pastry Shop – Porta Romana
Pasticceria Marlà is located a short walk from the Porta Romanasubway station. A dessert workshop in Milan that churns out croissants with cream, chantilly and blueberry saccottini, maritozzo with different fillings (pistachio, chocolate, zabaglione and cream) and more. Outdoor tables allow for outdoor breakfast. Great place to get together with friends over good coffee.
📍 Where: Corso Lodi, 15, 20135 Milan, Italy.
Ziva Confectionery – De Angeli
Ziva is a family-run bakery, where artisanal breakfast items and large sourdough products are prepared. The cafeteria service allows people to have breakfast on the premises and choose from a variety of delicacies. We recommend trying the new creation: a fluffy mushroom chantilly, praline and rocher.
📍 Where: Via Federico Faruffini, 2, 20149 Milan, Italy.
Rinaldini Milan – Center
Roberto Rinaldini, known as the dessert designer, is the founder of Rinaldini Pastry. Among the many awards he received during his career, the title of Italian Junior Pastry Champion, obtained in 1998, stands out. Here just looking at the pastry shop window alone makes your mouth water. What do we like best? Single portions of tasty cakes. Also try the ice cream.
📍 Where: Via Santa Margherita, 16, 20121 Milan, Italy.
Sissi – Risorgimento Area
At Sissi’s, breakfast puts you in a good mood. Here you can eat fantastic croissants overflowing with cream and chocolate.
The venue also has an inner courtyard and during nice days allows outdoor breakfast. For fried bomb lovers, this one is also large and rich in cream. If you have a real sweet tooth, you’re sure to appreciate the place.
📍 Where: Piazza Risorgimento, 6, 20129 Milan, Italy.
Sant Ambroeus Milan – Fashion Quadrilateral
Elegant and traditional, Sant Ambroeus Milano is a historic Milanese pastry shop. Here you can try the goodness of pastries or a classic croissant with cappuccino. Since 1936, pastry chefs have been working every day to churn out desserts that respect tradition. Also worth trying is the creamy tiramisu.
📍 Where: Corso Matteotti, 7, 20121 Milan, Italy.
Cova – Fashion Quadrilateral
Historic Milanese pastry shop founded in 1817. Cova is a meeting place in the historic center of Milan. This pastry shop is a must for anyone living in Milan. Try the Sicilian cannoli and coffee. For a good wake-up call we also recommend chocolate-filled croissants.
📍 Where: Via Monte Napoleone, 8, 20121 Milan, Italy
Sweet traditions – Casoretto
Sweet Traditions is a boutique bakery with a French twist. Excellent choice for those who want to have a rich and tasty breakfast near Central. The cappuccino and croissant are truly delicious.
📍 Where: Andrea Maria Ampère Street, 122, 20131 Milan.
The dessert workshops – Metro Brenta
It may be a bit of an out-of-the-way place if you are not from Milan, but its desserts make you fall in love. Cream-filled croissants with cappuccino give an early morning smile. The blackberry and raspberry monoportions are also worth trying. The products at Le officine del dolce are seasonal and quality, and the restaurant is gluten free.
📍 Where: Via Tullo Massarani, 2, 20139 Milan, Italy.
L’Ile Douce – Island
Croissant lovers will find heaven here: the double chocolate croissant and the cookie croissant are a must try! Also find many other tasty and creative treats.
📍Where: Via Luigi Porro Lambertenghi, 15.
Davide Longoni Bakery – Porta Romana
It is not a bakery, but this famous bakery, is popular for breakfast pastries. It also offered new products for the morning: a baked custard Danish, plain with the addition of fresh fruit, and a Venetian special enriched with custard and the berry jam (available only on weekends). Also recommended for an outdoor breakfast.
📍Where: via Gerolamo Tiraboschi, 19.
