Milan is yes the city of novelties, of exclusive restaurants opening in the city, of luxury bistro and much more. But it is also the city of vintage. Each month there are various events dedicated to those who like the industry and want to find something different. Everything old comes back into fashion sooner or later. Let’s go, then, to discover 8 vintage markets, and more, in Milan:
East Market
The East Market is the largest of the vintage markets in Milan. The event comes to life every third Sunday of the month at 84 Maecenas Street. You can really find anything here. From clothes, to accessories, designer items, vinyl and everything you can imagine, there is here. The event is really an experience. There are realities that come from a little bit all over Italy and offer the best of their products. If you want to go on a vintage “binge,” East Market is for you. While if you want to binge in the true sense of the word, there are always several trucks of street food with specialties such as, meatballs, fried food, sandwiches, hot dogs. In short, East Market knows how to grab people and make them experience something special.

Wunder MRKT
A bit smaller but really very nice and cozy is the Wunder MRKT. The market comes to life inside the spaces of Spirit de Milan, a local really cool where you can dine with live music. More than 100 booths welcome you by offering real wonders (hence “Wunder,” a German term for that very word). The Wunder MRKT creativity, crafts, vintage and sustainability, as well as good food offered by Spirit de Milan. Regular appointment every first Sunday of the month.

Historic Milan fair. It is the oldest flea market in Milan and dates back to the 1800s. It takes place on the Navigli every Saturday. The amount of stalls you can find is exponential, as are the products ranging from furniture, clothes, accessories, old coins, DVDs, vinyl, shoes, bags, leather goods, hardware items and more. It is really picturesque as an atmosphere.
Where: Ripa di Porta Ticinese
Penelope Vintage Market
Penelope has a somewhat different concept from other markets that take place on specific days of the month. This is a mercatino-shop where you can go Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Young and modern, this place specializes in finding Vintage items. It boasts items from the 1950s to the 1970s. Crazy, imaginative objects, in here you will be amazed by what you see. PopCorn Garage Market
Not quite as vintage as the realities mentioned above but still a market and then deserves mention anyway for the value it gives to the citizenry. The PopCorn Garage Market is an urban recovery project born in 2014, in Milan, that uses the format of European markets to promote artisans, emerging designers, independent realities and disused spaces. It has no fixed location, is itinerant. From Garden of Cultures, at Casoretto this market goes from place to place offering visibility and support to creative people of all kinds. Emerging brands, skilled hands to sew or create. Pop corn gives space to anyone.
A very interesting inclusive project to learn about and support. Next event on April 30, 2023 at the Martesana Amphitheater. Tune in to their social channels to stay up-to-date.
Remira Market
Another little place to peruse and find cute items and “of yesteryear” is Remira Market. Another reality to be included among Milan’s vintage markets that cannot be missed. Second-hand, vintage clothes, accessories, bags, jackets, shoes. You can find everything and more here. On website of Remira reads “Remira Market is a second-hand market that invites people to look at things with new eyes to give them a second life. We support awareness related to environmental protection and an eco-friendly lifestyle.” A friendly, sustainable, conscious and fun environment.
Next extraordinary edition at the Martinitt Theater on Pitteri Street june 4, 2023 from 10 am to 8:30 pm. You can usually find it in the garden of the Temple of the Lost Future on L. Nono, 9 – Milan.
Barter Market
Not quite vintage but enough is the Mercato del Baratto, the market where everything is free that is the largest in Italy. How does it work? We bring a maximum of 15-20 items of our choice (in good condition if possible) to exchange for other items we like best. Each item becomes a token to be used later in the various stalls. A cute, nice and sustainable way to dispose of what we no longer like and give new life to things instead of throwing them away. No money, just barter like in the old days. Curious isn’t it? Free and free admission. Every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m
Where: Via Luigi Nono, 9 – Temple of the Lost Future
