Alhambra
What if instead you went to eat at a place where you pay according to how much you weigh what you choose? Well, then you need to go to Alhambra in Porta Venezia. This is a restaurant that serves mostly oriental-inspired dishes. You can choose from several kinds of very tasty and spicy dishes, and you decide how much. And then pay according to quantity. In fact, the dish, once composed, is weighed and the sum corresponding to the weight is given.

Joia
Joia is absolutely to be included in the list of vegetarian restaurants in Milan. First vegetarian restaurant in Italy to receive first Michelin star. Joia is a place to enjoy gourmet veg cuisine that is sustainable and planet-friendly, but most importantly cruelty free.
“We are what weeat, we become what we choose to eat, ” reads the website joia’s. Here you can choose to eat healthy, green and responsibly because real change is made through small daily actions. Pietro Leeman knows this well, the chef in charge of Joia, who makes the restaurant the realm of conscious, organic food. At Joia’s there are 3 routes, 3 tastings all plant-based.
In addition, at lunch, Tuesday through Friday, you can choose from several options: the “Piatto Quadro,” or a mini gourmet tasting in a single course, and the “Three or Four Dishes,” a more streamlined offering of the dishes on the menu, with a choice of a three-course or four-course menu.
Where: via Panfilo Castaldi, 8 – Milan. Open Tuesday through Saturday for both lunch and dinner.
Altatto
Another restaurant for a vegetarian and vegan haute cuisine experience is Altatto, a bistro in the Greco area. A venue that offers an experience of more than just dining. Respect for the earth, craftsmanship and manual labor, the seasons, and the products of our land. These are the missions of Altatto, which strives every day to offer the best in vegetarian cuisine. Recommended is the tasting route so as to get a 360-degree view of Altatto’s philosophy, a journey of dishes, textures, colors and contrasts. You will not regret it.
Where: 15 Old Town Street – open for dinner Monday through Friday.
Flower Burger
If you want a dinner in one of Milan’s vegetarian restaurants without too many frills and a little more affordable, you might choose Flower Burger, the first veganburgheria born in 2015.
What immediately jumps out at you are the colors of these tasty sandwiches. We have been there several times and always come out satisfied: ranging from yellow bread made with turmeric, to purple thanks to black carrot to the beloved pink, made thanks to cherry extract. Tantalizing offerings for the eyes and palate, Jungle Burger, Flower Burger and Cherry Bomb are just some of the dishes accompanied by paprika-scented potatoes, edamame or patatas buenas.
On website of Flower Burger we read,“Soy sprouts, tofu, chickpeas, and quinoa have now become foods of our daily lives, and Flower Burger knows how to combine them to create a burger with explosive flavor that will make everyone fall in love.” And we subscribe.
Where: vittorio Veneto avenue, 10 – Corso Garibaldi, 34 – via Tortona, 12
Goat and Cabbage
Instead, in the Isola area we find Capra and Cavoli, a restaurant with both vegetarian and vegan options. A cozy, bright, and bem furnished environment. A true garden-home in the center of Milan a stone’s throw from the exclusive Porta Nuova district. Open kitchen and many good things as you can read about the menu very inviting. Definitely a proposal to be included among the various vegetarian restaurants in Milan.
Where: via Pastrengo, 18 – Milan. Open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday for lunch. Closed Sunday evenings and Mondays.
Nabi
A small modern bistro with tasty vegetarian dishes. A refined and level-headed vegan proposal obtained through collaboration with chef Elena D’Alto directly from Berlin. First courses, burgers, pies, brioche. Nabi is also perfect for the breakfast. If you are looking for a cozy place with yummy vegan delights, Nabi is for you. Still in the process of upgrading after a “handover” with the owner who recently took over, Nabi is working toward being totally vegan by the end of the year; in fact, there are still, in a very small percentage, non-vegetarian offerings. But briefly. Try it because it is worth it.
Where: Via Cadore, 41 – Milan. Always open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m
Panghea
Another venue to keep in mind is Panghea. Local with a strong green footprint. Vegan and gluten-free cuisine awaits you with tantalizing offerings. Fresh and organic raw materials with full respect for animals and our land. It is not just a dinner at Panghea but an ethical, conscious and just choice. Those “small” choices, however, that lead to real change. Here you will find not only responsible cooking, but also passion and a pleasant welcome. To consider.
Where: via Filippo Argelati, 12 – Milan. Open for both lunch and dinner, closed on Mondays.
Superficial
Superficial is our heartland place where we always return with great pleasure. A former red-light cinema turned into a restaurant. Pleasant environment. Filippo in the dining room will welcome you with grace and kindness while Saša in the kitchen will give you exceptional dishes.
Perhaps a bit far-fetched to include Superficiale among vegetarian restaurants in Milan since it is not strictly so, but it is a good compromise for those who are carnivores and those who are not. In fact, in the 3 choice routes (meat-fish-vegetarian) there is, precisely the green choice let’s say so it is perfect to accommodate those who want meat or fish and those who do not. All 3 choices include surprise courses prepared based on what the chef buys at the market in the morning. A blind menu can be intimidating but we assure you that everything is great!
Where: Via Sansovino, 1 – Milan. Open daily lunch and dinner. On Sunday evenings and Mondays the venue is closed.
Immoral
Another place in Milan that might seem far-fetched but is a good compromise for carnivores and vegetarians is Immoral. A name a program. Immoral presents two locations, one on Tadino Street and one on Lecco Street. We went to the one on Via Lecco and it bewitched us. Excellent cuisine, cozy location, friendly staff and incredible dishes.
The veggie proposal, however, you have it in the Tadino Street office. It is here that you find a tasting menu all vegetarian. Of course, there is no shortage of veg choices on Lecco Street as well, but an all-vegetarian course you can only taste in Tadino.
Immoral is a must-visit place on your list of places to go to spend a pleasant evening.
Where: tadino Street, 43 e via Lecco, 15– Milan. Both locations are open for dinner only.
